business. There is no additional information on this issue
in your packets.
3. 3.2 Beer Permit - St. Genevieve's Church will be conducting
their annual chicken dinner on August 17, 1997. They are
requesting a 3.2 beer permit for this event. I would
recommend granting this request. Included in your packets is
a flyer on this event and the certificate of insurance from
the church.
4. Noise Permit - Bill Bisek will be present to request a noise
permit for an outdoor concert event he would like to hold on
Saturday, October 18. I would ask him to explain the event
and the hours of operation. If Mr. Bisek is willing to mail
a notice of the event to the surrounding property owners, I
would recommend granting the noise permit. No additional
information is included in your packets.
5. Cable Conference - In your packets is the agenda for a
conference that will take place in Tucson. The cable
commission is offering to send a representative of the City
to this event. The commission would pay the expenses for
lodging and airfare. I have declined the offer because of
the timing of the event (budget, pregnancy, developments,
etc...). Mr. Cusick mentioned that Ry -chel may like to go
and could bring back some useful information in regards to
community programming. I will let Ry -chel explain why she
would like to go to the meeting and Sanna may be able to add
some input on the usefulness of this type of conference. I
believe there are some others going to the conference from
other cities.
6. Odyssey Lures - Variance request - Odyssey Lures needed a
variance for their parking lot which would extend into the
drainage easement on the south side of their lot. A public
hearing was held on this issue and no one was present to
comment on the issue. Planning and zoning recommended
approving the variance. I spoke to Kate Drewry from the
Watershed district and she indicated that it was very common
for cities to allow parking lots in drainage easements, as
long as the grading plan showed that the parking lot would
drain properly. I would recommend approving this variance
request. In your packets is a copy of the site plan for the
Odyssey Lures building.
