ADDITIONAL WEEK IN REVIEW ITEMS/ADMINISTRATORS REPORT
1) The Barett Property closed with no problems. I am having the
City Engineer complete some additional items to the property
survey on the property. The items are needed by the
architect working on the project. H.R. Green will have a
crew in town early next week to stake the water and sewer for
Lakeland Hills and will complete the tasks at that time. The
property is being mowed as requested and a local farmer is
going to continue to take the hay off the property, cutting
our mowing expenses (no pun intended).
2) The delineation has been completed on the parkland purchase.
The wetland boundaries will be identified on our map of the
site. Once this occurs early next week, I will arrange for
the property to be mowed. I would like to have the
specifications completed so that we can get an estimate on
grading for the site.
3) Gerald Rehbein would like to have the final plat approved for
Willow Glen (phase II). This will probably be an agenda item
for August 27.
4) The 7% certificate of deposit was purchased through Smith
Barney.
5) Some remodeling has occurred on the Jim Stevens property
without pulling a building permit. The property was
apparently "grandfathered" in under the building code as
long as the property stayed under the same usage. The
building is currently in the C -1 zoning which does not allow
the building to be modified. Essentially the building was
built in the floodway. Joyce Stevens is very upset and is
threatening litigation. The son apparently did most of the
work himself. Some of the work he was not licensed to do.
If Paul attends the meeting, he can provide some details as
to what improvements to the building were made. I have
brought this subject up to Greg and he will check to see what
legalities apply to this situation and whether or not we can
rezone the property to something different. Joyce Stevens
claims that the property was rezoned to C -1 in 1984 or 1985,
when she and her late husband were on vacation without their
knowledge. We are researching the issue.
6) We have been able to solve some of the drainage issues on the
west side of Brian Drive in the Clearwater Meadows
development. The swale behind Curtis Coffman and Bradley
Hanggi's property has been improved. We have not heard
anything lately from the property owners in Acorn Creek II in
regards to the subject of installing sidewalk south of Revoir
Street.
