CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JUNE 4, 1997 <br /> PRESENT: Tom Wilharber, Mayor <br /> Mary Jo Helmbrecht, Councilmember <br /> Theresa Brenner, Councilmember <br /> Sanna Buckbee, Councilmember <br /> ABSENT: Laura Powers, Councilmember <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br /> A special meeting was duly scheduled and called to order by Mayor Tom Wilharber at 5:10 p.m. <br /> Mayor Wilharber noted the special meeting was scheduled to discuss the Clerk/Administrators <br /> annual review and to discuss other city business. <br /> The Council discussed retaining Mr. Jim Brimeyer to conduct the annual review, seek staff input, <br /> and/or using Mr. Brimeyer's evaluation forms as provided during the six -month review. <br /> Mayor Wilharber suggested implementing the Brimeyer evaluation format, but does not agree <br /> Mr. Brimeyer should be retained since he was retained in December. Also, the retainer for Mr. <br /> Brimeyer could be applied toward the Clerk/Administrators financial advancement. Mr. March <br /> suggested if all the employees review the Clerk/Administrator, then this should be done for all <br /> employee reviews. <br /> Mayor Wilharber called for a vote on the review procedures for the Clerk/Administrator. <br /> Councilmember Brenner favored retaining Mr. Brimeyer, Mayor Wilharber favored an <br /> independent evaluation among the council. Councilmember Mary Jo Helmbrecht favored using <br /> the Brimeyer format and staff input. Councilmember Buckbee suggested conducting an <br /> organization survey, to receive input from the staff. <br /> Councilmember Powers arrived at 5:38 P.M. <br /> The Council elected Councilmember Brenner to develop the city survey. The City employees will <br /> complete and return the surveys to Mayor Wilharber by Wednesday, June 18, 1997. Mayor <br /> Wilharber will compile the information and report the findings to the Council. <br /> I <br />
