City Council minutes of May 22, 1996 <br /> Councilmember Brenner thanked the Mayor for taking on the added responsibilities he <br /> assumed in the absence of an Administrator since September of 1995. <br /> PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS <br /> Councilmember Brenner stated a resident on 73rd express some concern during the bad <br /> weather recently, that they couldn't hear the sirens. This was brought to the attention of <br /> Dale Larson on the Civil Defense Team. <br /> APPEARANCES <br /> Bald Eagle Water Ski Show <br /> Mr. Kevin Felien stated that the Bald Eagle Water Ski Show is applying for a temporary <br /> structure permit from Anoka County for the ski jump that is placed on Centerville Lake in <br /> front of Waterworks. Mr. Felien requested that two letters be sent, one regarding the <br /> whereabouts of the jump and a second denoting there are no special regulations regarding <br /> ski jumps in Centerville ordinances. <br /> He noted that there is no liability for the city, it is covered by the American Ski <br /> Association. There have been some new requirements that will also be addressed. For <br /> example: a light pole will be mounted on the ramp when not in use, this light will be lit <br /> from dusk to dawn. They generally practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. <br /> to dusk. <br /> Mr. Felien stated they have been doing this fo the last 5 years. When they first started <br /> they received some complaints and have since corrected boat patterns to accommodate <br /> those residents. <br /> MOTION by Helmbrecht, second by Brenner to request that staff prepare and mail the <br /> two letters requested from Mr. Felien, Bald Eagle Water Ski Show. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> United Waste <br /> Mr. Jeff Glewwe stated that United Waste would like to enhance the service by providing <br /> a carted system. Mr. Glewwe requested that a meeting be set up to discuss the options <br /> and benefits surrounding this system. <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that Centerville only has one garbage hauler and would be <br /> beneficial to them to provide a safe and easier system, especially to senior residents. <br /> Staff was directed to coordinate a meeting with Mr. Glewwe, the Council Liaison and <br /> staff. <br /> OLD / NEW BUSINESS <br /> Clearwater Meadows <br /> CC5 -22MM.
