<br />Council - Member Capra indicated she thought it would be nice to have an all City <br />committee meeting after the first of the year even without the County to discuss strategic <br />planning. . <br /> <br />7. YMCA <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-:Sykes indicated that she was talking to Mr. Craig Bode who asked if the City <br />has any interest in assisting with the funding of the YMCA. <br /> <br />Council discussed the matter and determined that the City is not interested in funding the <br />YMCA. - <br /> <br />8. Police Task Force <br /> <br />Council Member .Lee indicated that City of Circle Pines did not move on the budget <br />numbers so the default increase will be used. He then said that City of Lexington <br />mentioned again that they would like to change the formula and he does not agree with <br />that. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers commented that it seems that with the Tri-City group <br />has done, all of the City's benefit but it appears to be pulling apart and she would not be __ <br />interested in changing the formula to anything that does not take into account the number <br />of calls. She further commented that it may be time for the City of Centerville to look <br />into alternatives. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated that all of the cities said they want the joint powers <br />agreement to continue. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers commented that she thinks that the City needs to <br />look at alternatives. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney asked that Ms. PauIseth copy the information packet she had provided to <br />him earlier in the year when there were meetings on combining police forces as it has <br />valuable information for in it. <br /> <br />.- <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that everyone expressed a desire to have die JP A completed <br />by December. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated the other sticking point is the new building agreement <br />because the JPA would be for five years but the cities would be tied together for the life <br />of the bonding for the new building which could be 20 years. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated that ground was being broken for the new cable facility <br />and meetings will be held there when it is completed. <br /> <br />Page 13 of 14 <br />
