<br />Centerville City Council <br />May 28. 2003 <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the legislature was still in special session trying to <br />hammer out details of the health and human services bill. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney commented that they are not taking as much LGA as initially planned. <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that was correct but said she had not yet seen the figures. <br />She then offered to provide that information when it is received. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated the state is allowing cities to recoup 60% of lost LGA that <br />will fall outside of levy limits meaning the City could increase its levy by 60% of what is <br />lost as a way of letting cities wean themselves offofLGA. <br /> <br />2. Capital Projects <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he is waiting to hear from Mr. Travis on the settlement <br />agreement but is not anticipating any problems. He then indicated the others are moving <br />forward and he feels he and Mr. Peterson can come to agreement with Mr. Buechler. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that she received a new proposal from Mr. Buechler to pave <br />Mound Trail. <br /> <br />Mr. Patzer indicated Mr. Buechler could utilize Ag lime from the track field over at <br />White Bear Lake otherwise he is looking at a 5% increase in the costs. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Mr. Buechler would needs an overweight permit to do <br />this project. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to approve the work and the bid based on the nee:otiations with the City <br />Attorney and Mr. Buechler on the other outstandine: issues. <br /> <br />Council asked whether Mr. Buechler would be willing to bond for the road. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Council discussed with Staff the existing road and the pros and cons of allowing the over <br />weight permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member Paar <br />to approve the 9-ton permit based on the ene:ineer's recommendation with Mr. <br />Buechler responsible for road damae:e should it occur and contine:ent upon the <br />other issues beinS! resolved and the road beinS! completed this Year. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Fete des Lacs (Update) <br /> <br />Council discussed the festival and indicated that plans are underway. <br /> <br />Page 7 of9 <br />
