City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> August 8, 2012 <br /> Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Love, to approve <br /> the Joint Powers Agreement Sharing of Building Inspection Services — City of Hugo <br /> as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Council Member Fehrenbacher noted that the appointment to the Parks & Recreation <br /> Committee should be added as Item 4. <br /> 3. Metro Cities Assoc. of Metro. Municipalities — Request for Program Participation <br /> Previously discussed. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to <br /> approve membership in the Metro Cities Assoc. of Metro. Municipalities for 2013. <br /> Council Member King Opposed. Motion carried. <br /> 4. P & R Committee Member Appointment <br /> Chairperson Branch was present and stated that the Committee had requested that the <br /> City Code be modified to allow nine (9) members rather than seven (7) and to be allowed <br /> to make a recommendation to Council on the candidate that they would choose if there <br /> were more than one vacancy. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that one (1) of the two (2) individuals might be appointed as <br /> an ex officio /alternate of the Committee with voting rights only when an appointed <br /> committee member is absent from the meeting. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br /> appoint both Mr. Bettinger and Mr. Waeghe with the understanding that the <br /> Committee would choose who would be the full -time Committee Member and who <br /> would be the alternate Committee Member; however, only 7 votes on all motions <br /> would be allowed. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> Administrator Larson reported that Anoka County accepted the City's offer to purchase <br /> the parcel of property along Peltier Lake Drive and Main Street. Administrator Larson <br /> stated that Staff could compile a short request for proposals to builders inviting them to <br /> submit proposals for purchase and development if the Council decides that it wishes to <br /> proceed in that manner. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission had met and <br /> discussed snowmobile rules and regulations that are being considered by Circle Pines, <br /> Hugo, Lexington and Lino Lakes. It would be very advantageous for abutting cities to <br /> address regulations the same for ease of policing and snowmobile enthusiasts. <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> 4 <br />
