City of Centerville <br /> P&R Meeting Minutes <br /> May 7,2014 <br /> WuLong Karate, LLC has submitted an application for the use of Laurie LaMotte <br /> Park on June 7, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a Foot Race & Exercise <br /> Stations. They have also requested the use of the restrooms; there is also a port-a- <br /> pot available for use. Committee Member Peterson will unlock the restrooms. <br /> _Motion made by Committee Member Bettineer, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Waep-he to recommend to the City Council to approve WuLong <br /> Karate, LLC's Application for the use of Laurie LaMotte Park contingent <br /> upon them providing an insurance rider to the City. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> 5. Anoka County Park Partnership - Update <br /> Committee Member Branch provided an update stating there will be no more fees <br /> or sales tax charged to the City of Centerville for the use of the County Parks. <br /> 6. Music In The Park/JAM- Update <br /> Committee Member Branch provided an update for the music in the Park stating <br /> all contracts have been received except for two. The Lions will not be holding a <br /> Street Dance this year; thus the JAM will change to a more family oriented event. <br /> The JAM will be held on Friday evening, before the fireworks. It will most likely <br /> be held in the Pavilion at Laurie LaMotte Park and there will be no stage. Parade <br /> organizers have offered to contribute $300 from their parade budget to pay for <br /> porta potties, lights, etc. The Lions will be asked if they would like to provide <br /> their concession stand with all proceeds going to the Lions. <br /> Motion made by Committee Member Branch, seconded by Committee <br /> _Member Amundsen to expend up to $500 for expenses associated with the <br /> JAM. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> 7. Park Benches—Pat Branch <br /> A request was made by the Lions to purchase a Park Bench to use as a memorial. <br /> Motion made by Committee Member Branch, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Grahek that in recosnition of the Centerville Lions past and <br /> continuing support to the City, the Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> recommends dedicatinp, one of the new park benches in Laurie LaMotte <br /> Memorial Park to the Centerville Lions Club.
