City of Centerville <br /> Council Minutes <br /> May 28,2014 <br /> Motion made by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve the <br /> purchase of one (1) new 1 ton, snowplow/dump truck through the State Cooperative <br /> Purchasing Program in an amount not to exceed $47,500 as presented and table the <br /> additional items. <br /> Council Member Fehrenbacher desired to table the entire consideration of the agenda item until <br /> the next meeting. <br /> Mayor Wilharber reminded Council of early snow fall and the effectiveness of either not having <br /> the proper equipment available or equipment that is in disrepair. <br /> Council Member Fehrenbacher opposed. Motion carried. <br /> 4. Change Order #1 — Royal Meadows Watermain Improvements — (Labor), C & L <br /> Excavating—$82,550 <br /> Engineer Statz stated that the Public Works Director solicited quotes from at least three (3) <br /> contractors for this work, C & L Excavating submitted the lowest bid at $82,550 and being that <br /> they are the same contractor for the Royal Meadows Watermain Improvements Project, for ease <br /> of administration the Change Order was initiated in this matter. Engineer Statz stated that only <br /> Item /t4 involved the Royal Meadows Development. Engineer Statz stated that the work to be <br /> performed would involve catch basins, curb and gutter, gate valves and manhole adjustments <br /> prior to the 2014 Mill & Overlay Project. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to approve the <br /> submitted Change Order#1 as presented. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 5. Special Event Permit—Hmong Flag Football Tournament <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that both local papers had reported that the Hmong Flag Football <br /> Tournament would be held at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for only one day and that the event <br /> had been scaled back per the organizer. Mayor Wilharber stated that the City is allowing this <br /> event in an attempt to recoup the financial obligations from the organizers associated with <br /> damages caused last year by them to the turf. <br /> X. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> 1. Administrator Larson—Lake Shore Parcel(s) <br /> Administrator Larson was not available to discuss negotiation of the lakeshore parcels owned by <br /> St. Paul Water District. <br /> Engineer Statz reported that he and Staff had met with Anoka County Highway Department Staff <br /> regarding the reconstruction of Centerville Road and the inclusion of municipal services, stated <br /> that residents had been receiving notices regarding setbacks and offers for right-of-way <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br /> 4 <br />
