City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 24,2014 <br /> Technology, Engineering, Math), expand anti-bullying/positive school culture programming and <br /> programming and interventions (services and supports) for the elementary schools, expand world <br /> language, add orchestra program, expand anti-bullying/positive school culture programming and <br /> programming and interventions (services and supports) for grades 6-12 and also expand staffing <br /> and support for integration of technology, infrastructure, improve capacity to address software, <br /> applications and data needs along with providing staff development. Superintendent Dietz also <br /> stated that the tax impact for a residential home valued $125,000 would realize a decrease of <br /> $5.81/year in property taxes and a home valued at $250,000 would realize a decrease of <br /> $54.67/year in property taxes. Superintendent Dietz stated that a decrease in property taxes <br /> would be realized due to previous debt obligations (construction of both Blue Heron and <br /> Centennial Middle School)have been satisfied. <br /> Council Member Fehrenbacher questioned the definition of DER. Superintendent Dietz stated <br /> heating, cooling and ventilation systems, along dehumidification projects and roofing). Mayor <br /> Wilharber questioned the proposed security upgrades and Superintendent Dietz responded that <br /> new communication equipment and video monitoring would assist staff, law enforcement and <br /> students in the event that a crisis situation where to take place. Council Member Love <br /> questioned the impact to the schools plans if only one of the questions where to pass and <br /> Superintendent Dietz stated that the district would pare back the programs, repairs to buildings <br /> would be prioritized and a longer deployment timeframe. Council Member Love questioned the <br /> impact on teachers and students. Superintendent Dietz stated that he felt that there would be no <br /> impact on teachers except how they teach and how the children learn. Superintendent Dietz <br /> thanked Council for their continued support. <br /> IV. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 1. None. <br /> V. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> Mayor Wilharber added Centerville Claims (Check #28983-28988), corrected Centennial Fire <br /> District Claims Check#6559-6573 and added page 14a under Old Business. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher. seconded by Love to approve the Agenda as <br /> presented with the additions as stated. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> VI. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> 1. September 10, 2014 City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> The Mayor provided Council Members with an opportunity to amend the presented minutes. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher. seconded by Council Member King to approve <br /> the minutes of the September 10, 2014 Citv Council Meeting as presented All in favor. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Page 2 of 6 <br /> 5 <br />
