• Respect
• Efficiency"
Can you think of one value that we espouse to but actually do something different?
• No
• 1 don't think we work with tell together as a team in most instances.
• Working together as a team
• Strive to be flexible and maintain an open mind.
What level of interaction or direction should the administrator have with me or the people I supervise?
• The administrator should provide direction and overall goals for each department via the
department head. The department head in turn should supervise and manage the completion
of goals in a more hands on way than the administrator.
• The administrator should not feel the need to micro-manage any particular project at any level,
but he should feel comfortable interacting with people at all levels of the organization. He
needs to be able to provide the department heads with clear direction and overall goals.
However, if he is going to provide work direction below the department head level, he should
coordinate with the department head to ensure that the work is being completed and not
burdensome to any particular person.
• An administrator should provide direction and guidance as a person looking at the City's best
interests as a whole, not just an individual department. Interaction should be enough to know
what is going on at an overall, general level, not the minutia.
• We're a small organization so it is possible for the administrator to stay informed and involved
at all levels while maintaining a professional distance and respecting the individual manager's
skills and abilities.
• The Administrator should feel comfortable interacting with Directors and Managers and the
people they supervise. However, he should also feel comfortable letting the Director/Manager
supervise independently.
We should meet as department direclors and managers
Answer Options
Once a week 40.0% 2
Twice a month 20.0% 1
Once a month 0.0% 0
As needed 0.0% 0
Other(please specify) 40.0% 2
• Once a week unless there is no reason to meet
• After each Council Meeting
