<br />authorization may be presumed by Employees in emergency situations such as excess <br />snowfall, flood, severe storms, water main breaks, lift station malfunctions, or other <br />similar situations where the immediate response of staff is required to avert <br />endangerment of life, home or property. In the event of an emergency situation, the <br />City Administrator shall be notified immediately. <br /> <br />6.7 Compensatory Time <br /> <br />General: The City of Centerville may give compensatory time off, in lieu of paid <br />overtime, when it is mutually agreed upon with individual Employees before the over <br />time hours are worked. The Employee must be allowed to take compensatory time <br />off at his/her convenience. A compensatory time-off request can not be denied <br />unless it is an "undue hardship" for the City. <br /> <br /> <br />in excess of a normal <br />half (1 %) times the <br />al work day, <br />and one-half <br /> <br />Rate: Employees who are assigned to work by the E <br />work day shall be compensated at the rate of on <br />Employee's basic hourly rate for all hours worke ex s of <br />or shall receive equivalent compensatory tim the rate 0 <br />(1 %) hours for each hour worked. <br /> <br />Procedures: Employees may be allowed to A to a maximum of eighty (80) <br />hours of compensatory time. Work time describes <br />che No work relating to outside employment or other <br />peLormed during work time. <br /> <br />utside employment may not present a conflict of interest, or <br />the welfare of the City. <br /> <br />Performance: Outside employment shall not interfere with an Employee's proper <br />performance of City duties. Employees are required to be available at all times for <br />emergency or overtime work as needed. With the exception of overtime work, <br />Employees should be able to report to work refreshed and ready for work. <br /> <br />Contracts with City: Employees are prohibited from working for any contractor or <br />company that has a contract with the City during the period of time in which work is <br />being done for the City. <br /> <br />Supplies: No Employee shall accept employment that requires the use of City <br />equipment, facilities or material. <br /> <br />13 <br />
