STREETS/STORM DRAIN — Detention Ponds <br /> 1. Preparation <br /> a. Remove any sediment and trash from grates. <br /> b. Do a visual inspection to make sure any grates, structures, manholes, boxes, and <br /> pipes are in good working order. <br /> c. Pull grates, inspect inside of basin. <br /> 2. Process <br /> a. Remove debris from area. <br /> b. Try to keep anything from going downstream. <br /> c. Put all sediment into a dump truck <br /> 3. Clean-up <br /> a. After cleaning basins, clean off the concrete pads or work area. <br /> b. Make sure they are swept up and clean. <br /> c. Haul to drying bed. <br /> 4. Documentation <br /> a. Keep logs of number of detention ponds. <br /> STREETS/STORM DRAIN — Garbage Storage <br /> 1. Preparation <br /> a. Locate dumpsters and trash cans with lids in convenient, easily observable areas. <br /> b. Provide properly-labeled recycling bins to reduce the amount of garbage <br /> disposed. <br /> c. Provide training to employees to prevent improper disposal of general trash. <br /> 2. Process <br /> a. Inspect garbage bins for leaks regularly, and have repairs made immediately by <br /> responsible party. <br /> b.
