Peltier Preserve Subdivision and Benefiting Properties (Municipal Services) <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney ~dqh~;taring at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney asked residents in attendance to limit their comments to those things not <br />previously mentioned at the last public hearing. He then explained that the assessment <br />numbers provided were estimates and the actual numbers will not be known until the bids <br />are obtained from the contractors. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated there was an informational meeting a month ago on February 27, <br />2003. He then provided a brief overview of the project and the different Scenarios. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated it would be his recommendation, based on costs, would be to go <br />with Scenario number three. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked whether the prices for estimates take into account the <br />$50,000. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that part of the money was used to connect <br />to the Shores and she thinks there is approximately $25,000. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated he would like to see Scenario 2, 4, or 5 with the use of the . <br />remaining funds for looping. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated that one of the culverts is at the intersection of the new road <br />for the development and there is a frost heave there. <br /> <br />Ms. Suzanne Seeley, 1784 Peltier Lake Drive, indicated that she recalls Mr. Gonyea <br />stating that he would pay all the costs associated with getting water to his development so <br />she does not understand why residents would be assessed $900 for Scenario #1. Mr. <br />Peterson explained that Mr. Gonyea pays for the water main but to stub the water main to <br />the property line costs $900. <br /> <br />Ms. Seeley indicated that in Scenario #1 the developer would bear the most costs and she <br />feels that is fair since he is the one that stands to make the money from the development. <br />She then said it is hard to accept having the road torn up again for water because it is <br />convenient. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers clarified that all of the Scenarios are for directional <br />drilling plans. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney indicated Council had asked for alternates for costs associated with <br />doing the roads at the same time to determine if it would be cheaper overall rather than <br />doing the water now and the streets later for two separate assessments that were . <br />ultimately more expensive. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 19 <br />
