Centerville City Council
Meeting Minutes
March 26, 2003
Mr. Labarre indicated he is a pipe fitter and water can be supplied to everyone of the lots
by tying in at 73rd and the size of the main does not have to be increased to provide water
to all the lots. He then said that the City should absorb the connection fees and that
would be more cost savings for the homeowners.

Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that she would take the $25,000 and apply
it for that if the City decided to break out those two pieces so it does the same thing as
applying the whole sum to the project.

Mr. Labarre indicated that water is right out his front door across the street and asked if
he would be allowed to request City water and hook up for $900. He then said he was
told at the time he purchased the house he could connect for $1,800. He further
commented that the head of public works told him that he could get to the property line
for $1,800.

Mr. Labarre asked if he could call tomorrow and ask to hook up to water to avoid the
assessment.

Council indicated that matter would need to be researched.

Council Member Capra indicated there were issues with what transpired with regard to
the water down Mill Road and there is more investigation that needs to be done.

Residents asked for the proposed starting date for the proj ect. The City Engineer
indicated the project is slated to begin and be completed this summer.

Motion was made bv Council Member Broussard Vickers and seconded by Council
Member Lee to close the public hearin2:. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.

Mayor Sweeney closed the public hearing at 9:05 p.m.

A resident indicated that they were not notified of the meeting as was stated at the last
meeting.

Mayor Sweeney indicated that letters were forwarded to residents, Mill Road
improvements were not included and apologized for any misunderstandings.

Mr. Hoeft stated that the City fulfilled their legal requirements for notification.

Council Member Broussard Vickers stated that residents have been mailed several
notices, are aware of the meetings that have taken place, are present at this evenings
meeting and Mill Road residents do not apply because the motion does not contain Mill
Road.

Council Member Paar indicated he would like clarification on the well as to when they
can be repaired and when residents are required to hook up to City water.
