<br />Centervil1e City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 26, 2003 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers amended her motion to request that the developer <br /> <br />escrow funds to cover the plans and specifications. Council Member Capra accepted the <br /> <br />amendment to the motion. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated he would only feel comfortable with Scenario #2 <br />provided that those residents that would be bypassed by the water are willing to take the <br />risk that they may have to pay all the costs associated with obtaining water if their wells <br />fail. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that the record should note those that have said they are <br />willing to accept the risk of not getting water at this time. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:20 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />VII. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Vehicle Replacement Program <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked for better information from Staff with dollar <br />figures and how that relates to the budget. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council <br />Capra to table for further information from Staff. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Tru-Green Chern Lawn Contract <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated the cost for the contract would be $4,832. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said he has noticed a lot of weeds at the parks and he is concerned <br />that the City is not getting the service it is paying for. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council Member Broussard Vickers and seconded by Council <br />Member Capra to approve the Tru-Green Chern Lawn contract provided Staff <br />obtain two other competitive bids and the price is comparable. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated he was advised by his attorney to abstain from comment <br />and voting on the matter because he has a pending lawsuit with Chem Lawn. <br /> <br />VOTE: Ayes - 4, Nays - 0, Abstain -l(Paar).
