They know their <br /> largest water users are the city,schools and multifamily housing units. They are looking at a <br /> groundwater recharge system with reclaimed water like at East Bethel. If the cities could combine with <br /> St. Paul and 3M they could reduce water use by 3 billion gallons by using more river water rather than <br /> groundwater. <br /> North St. Paul <br /> • Understand unmetered and loss component—likely the biggest source of water conservation <br /> • Possible water audits <br /> • May have higher potential <br /> • Focus on unmetered city water—upgrade leaky pipes, improve flushing and maintenance <br /> procedures <br /> Discussion:North St. Paul still suffers from too much water at times. They need to do a better job of <br /> tracking water loss and consider reuse in the future. They are not a growing community and there is not <br /> much irrigation—only 21%of the users irrigate. Education may result in some conservation. They might <br /> partner with the watershed.
