City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 23, 2016 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love to Approve <br />Consent Agenda Items #2 & 3 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Engineer Statz addressed the Council about the claim(s) from Mr. Barett who has resided in the <br />home for 36 ± years. He never experienced a problem with their sewer line freezing except for <br />this winter and they along with City Staff feel that it is associated with the CSAH21/Centerville <br />Road Improvement Project. Engineer Statz stated that the City and he are working with Anoka <br />County and the contractor to determine responsibility and correction but in the meantime, the <br />property owner should not be responsible for the issue. Council Member King questioned <br />whether there had been any other complaints from residents regarding similar issues and <br />Engineer Statz stated no. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to Approve <br />Consent Agenda Item #1 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.None. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Discussion on Fete des Lacs Fireworks Display – Increase by $1,000? <br /> <br />Council Member Paar stated that recent discussions with the Fete des Lacs Festival Committee <br />regarding potentially increasing the fireworks budget by $1,000. Council Member Paar stated <br />that generally Hollywood Pyrotechnics provides much more than their contracted $4,000 display <br />and has never pushed to increase the display amount. He has consulted with the Finance <br />Director who has stated that funds would be available for a $1,000 increase. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that an aggressive sponsorship for Fete des Lacs activities is taking <br />place with the receipt of a $500 sponsorship being received earlier today. <br /> <br />Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to Enter into a <br />Contract with Hollywood Pyrotechnics for a $5,000 Fireworks Display on August 5, 2016 <br />with a Rain Date of August 7, 2016. (4/1) Council Member King Opposed. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Request for Letter of Credit Reduction, Ground Development <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the presented letter by Ground Development generally would <br />appear on Council’s Consent Agenda. He stated that the developer of Pheasant Marsh has <br />recently sold 12 vacant lots within the Pheasant Marsh 3 area, has allowed several outlots to go <br />tax forfeited, has been less than responsive with his responsibilities for maintaining the vacant <br />parcels, sidewalks and roadways within the developments and the City has threated action <br />Page 4 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
