City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 2, 2016 <br />The purpose of SCORE funds is to educate individuals regarding the <br />purpose of recycling, appropriate items to recycle, thinking ahead <br />regarding purchases, reuse and proper disposal of items. <br />(Trash/recycling receptacles), recycling/incentive programs, educational <br />programs (Tricia & Toons, Climb, etc.), educational mailings, collection <br />events, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />c.Centerville Road Properties <br /> <br />There were two (2) aerial photos showing Trailside Park and a property <br />adjacent to Centerville Road that the Committee thought might be an <br />outlot. Regarding Trailside Park, it was stated that this park extends as far <br />as the church and would like staff to provide a complete photo showing <br />the boundaries. They also discussed adding a trail connection, a fishing <br />pier and providing shore erosion stability/prevention. This item was tabled <br />to the April meeting. <br /> <br />VI. UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1. Council Updates – Council Member Steve King <br /> <br /> Mr. King provided information regarding several items on the agenda. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2.2016 Council Goal Setting Session with Short & Long Term Planning <br /> <br />This was rescheduled for March 9th and will include participation from those P & <br />R Committee member(s) who will be available. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Family Skate Night Wrap Up <br /> <br />This was determined to be another successful event. Inventory of supplies was <br />taken and entered in Drop Box for easy accessibility. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />4.Vacancy – Planning & Zoning Commission <br /> <br />One vacancy has been filled on the Planning Commission and one seat remains <br />vacant. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Waterworks Location – Concept Plan for Development <br /> <br />The Committee was provided copies of Concept Plan for an 108 unit, 4 story <br />apartment complex with 1, 2 & 3 bedroom options, to be located on 7265 & 7281 <br />Main Street. The Committee had concerns regarding entrances, turn lane/bypass <br />lanes along Main Street and other items. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Safety Bases <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
