City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 11, 2016 <br />within the year, school and county levies and comparing taxes as a whole or just municipal taxes <br />and Mr. Tolzmannās review of valuations. <br /> <br />Mr. Lloyd Drilling stated that small businesses are attempting to remain in town and still make a <br />go of it and have a little profit to reinvest back into their business. If taxes/values continue to <br />rise, businesses will not be able remain in Centerville. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the economy is coming back, values are increasing as the <br />market is increasing. It there was an error made, Mr. Tolzmann will take care of it. <br /> <br />Chad Buechler stated that the value of his property increase 25% and Todd Steffen stated that his <br />valuation increased from $667,500 to $1,070,900 of which $222,200 is improvement. Mr. <br />Guggenburger stated that Mr. Tolzmann visits the property every five years and he is unsure the <br />method Mr. Tolzmann used for placing the values on the one residential parcel and the other <br />business parcels but would be in contact with him. <br /> <br />Council stated that Mr. Tolzmann has worked with many residents and business owners alike in <br />the past and will work with these individuals also. Council requested that either Mr. Tolzmann, <br />the property owners or Mr. Guggenburger follow up with Council so that they are aware of the <br />findings and outcomes. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher to Close the <br />Local Board of Review & Equalization at 6:35 p.m. All in favor.
