<br />METRO DIGEST <br /> <br />cost not to exceed $695,000 <br /> <br />· authorized its Regional Administrator to <br />negotiate and execute an interagency <br />agreement with Hennepin County for <br />purposes of providing waste heat energy to <br />the Heywood Facility from the Hennepin <br />Energy Resource Company resulting in a <br />reduction in natural gas energy costs. <br /> <br />· authorized its Regional Administrator to <br />execute a service agreement renewal with <br />Minnesota Valley Transit Authority <br />(MVTA) for the service period January 1, <br />2002, to December 31, 2004. <br /> <br />· reviewed the Minneapolis Light Rail Transit <br />(LR T) Station Area Plan Amendment and <br />adopted the Review Record which included <br />the following: <br /> <br />1. The city of Minneapolis may put the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendments into <br />effect with the following <br />recommendation: <br /> <br />a. The city address surface water <br />management for each of the LR T <br />station areas as part of its second <br />generation Surface Water <br />Management Plan, and work closely <br />with the Council staff as this <br />Surface Water Management Plan is <br />prepared. <br /> <br />The Council Also: <br /> <br />· held its Truth in Taxation Public Hearing on <br />December 4, 2002. <br /> <br />· held public hearings on the Council's 2003 <br />Unified Operating Budget and related tax <br />levies and the 2003-2012 Capital <br />Improvement Program and 2003 Capital <br />Budget. <br /> <br />· presented Regional Leadership A wards to the <br />members of the Mayors' Regional Housing <br />Task Force. <br /> <br />· received MetroGIS award and Certificate of <br />Apprec iation. <br /> <br />· received and presented the National <br />Association of Minority Contractors 2002 <br />Affiliate of the Year Non-Profit Agency <br />A ward. <br /> <br />New Publications <br /> <br />Council publications are available from the <br />Council's Regional Data Center.
