1. New/Replacement of Picnic Tables - Various Parks
Committee Member Seeley provided an inventory of the picnic tables at various
parks. Currently there are four (4) at Hidden Springs, two (2) at Laurie LaMotte,
one (1) at Acorn Creek and Eagle Park. There are tables at Tracie McBride,
Royal Meadows, Cornerstone or Trailside Parks. There was a suggestion to move
two (2) from Hidden Spring to Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. This item was
tabled to the August meeting and will be added to the Committee’s Project List.

2. Restore Natural Spring in Hidden Spring Park
Discussion was had regarding how to accomplish this restoration. The Committee
requested that Mr. Palzer investigate options and costs for this project. This item
was tabled to the August meeting.

3. Playground Ladder Replacement in Acorn Creek Park
Mr. Palzer informed the Committee that a playground ladder has become unsafe;
he was asked to check into the purchase of a replacement ladder at an
approximate cost of $1,825.

Motion was made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee
Member Grahek to recommend to Council the purchase of a replacement
ladder for Acorn Creek Park due to safety concerns. All in favor. Motion
carried.

4. Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Ball Fields – Usability During/After Rain
Mr. Lucas Welsch, a senior at Centennial High school and an umpire for the Lino
Lakes Little League, brought to the attention of the Committee the condition of
the fields at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park when it rains as they become
unusable for the rest of the day. The Committee Members are aware of the
condition of the fields when it rains due to lack of drainage. Currently there is no
staff available to rake the fields. In addition, it is estimated that it would require
at least six (6) semi loads of rock to alleviate the drainage problem. The
Committee will add this to their project list and request that staff send a response
letter to Mr. Welsch thanking him for bringing it to the Committee’s attention and
to inform him that the Committee and/or the City do not have funds available at
this time to make any major changes.

5. Park Facility Permit Application – Anniversary Party
Motion was made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee
Member Bettinger to recommend to the City Council to approve the Park
Facility Permit Application submitted by Melissa Jaques for the use of
Hidden Spring Park on August 20, 2016 for an Anniversary Party. All in
favor. Motion carried.
2
