City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> August 9,2017 <br /> LGA figures utilized; concern for escrow levels and reporting to Council and scheduling a work <br /> session for September. <br /> Mayor Paar thanked Finance Director Paulseth for the presentation and availability to discuss <br /> concerns with Council individually. He stated that it is a pleasure to work with knowledgeable <br /> staff and thanked her and Ms. Sweeney for their dedication <br /> X. COUNCIL & ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT <br /> 1. Administrator Ericson <br /> a. City of Centerville 2040 Comprehensive Plan—WSB <br /> Administrator Ericson reported that WSB was available at Fete des Lacs, in the Park to <br /> gain input from the public to start the beginning stages of work on the 2040 <br /> Comprehensive Plan. He stated that they are very excited to be working with Staff and <br /> anticipated a timeline that would adhere to Met. Council's requirements for submission in <br /> December of 2018. <br /> b. Local Government Officials Meeting—August 30, 2017 <br /> Administrator Ericson reported that a concerted effort is being made to engage elected <br /> and appointed officials to meet more often and if any Council Members desired to attend <br /> to notify as soon as possible. <br /> Engineer Statz reported that the 2017 Mill & Overlay project is finishing up and includes <br /> repairs to areas that may have received damage during the project. <br /> Council Member Koski reported that WSB attended the Planning & Zoning Commission <br /> meeting and felt that the work to this point was extremely informative. He also reported <br /> that WSB believes that members of the Planning & Zoning Commission will be a large <br /> asset to the plan. <br /> Council Member Montain reported that he recently attended an Anoka County Fire <br /> Protection meeting where discussion took place regarding the hiring of another additional <br /> individual with the Chief concurring with the impact in expenditures being $2,800 rather <br /> than $108. He reported that he participated in several Night to Unite gatherings and the <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee received a recap of Fete des Lacs. He thanked <br /> volunteers, sponsors and Staff for their contributions. He stated that he was disappointed <br /> in Met. Council's rate increase of 3%. <br /> Mayor Paar reported that Night to Unite was a huge success with Public Safety personnel <br /> visiting numerous neighborhood gatherings and thanked respective staffs and Chiefs. He <br /> reported on his attendance of a recent Centennial Lakes Police Steering Committee <br /> meeting regarding Force Decision Training where Officers are placed in simulated <br /> situations of when it is appropriate to shoot and encourage Council Members to <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
