<br />Recruitment: The City .Administrator or . designee is responsible to manage the <br />reauittnent process to assure compliance with federal and state laws as well as City <br />of Centervi1le practices. This includes approving aU job postings~ advertisements~ <br />. placing of job advertiset.D.ents~ addendums to the application and other recniitm.ent <br />. materials. The City Administrator or designee. will meet with the appropriate <br />sUpervisor to determine the best methods for recruiting. An appointtnents shaD. be <br />made on the basis of merit and, fitness for the position. Merit and fitness may be <br />detP.nnined by written, oral and/or. other job-relevant f'!lrgmtngtion, as well as .by <br />consideration of education, past experience and other job-relevant qualifications. <br /> <br />Announcement: When the City reauits a position extemally~ the position will be <br />advertised in selected newspapers~ periodicals~ newsletters and/or through direct <br />m9ilings at least ten (10) days in advance of the deadline for application. <br /> <br />Application Form: Applicants for initial hire or promotion must normally submit <br />written appliCation materials setting forth their qualifications and such other <br />infonnation as may be pertinent and required by the City. Unless otherwise <br />stipulated by the City Administrator, applications will not be considered complete <br />without the inclusion of a. sign~ official City of Centerrille employment application <br />fonn. <br /> <br />Application Review: The City Administrator and/or the supervisor shaD. review aU <br />applications and conduct job-relevant background reviews screening aU applications. to <br />detP.nnine candidate qualifications. Initial interviews may . be conducted of the <br />applicants whose qualifications are best-suited for the position. .Any applicant not <br />. meeting minimum qualificatiOns requited for the position shall be rejected for further <br />consideration. <br /> <br />:E,cA1n1ftAUon: If an f'!lr9mingtion is required for a position, the eygmtngtion shaD. be <br />anminiRtered by the City Administrator or his/her designee at a time and place <br />established by the same. Upon receipt of the p.y~min9tion results, the City <br />Administrator or his/her deRigoee shall notify each petson t.aking the P.Y9mingtion,.in . <br />writing, of theresu1ts of the eY9mingtion. J1.ygmtn9ti.on scores will be adjusted in <br />accordance with the provisions of the Vetetans Preference Act where applicable. <br /> <br />Disqualification of Application: An applicant may be rejected at any time if the <br />applicant fails to respond at any stage of the selection process. <br /> <br />4.4 App~intment Authority <br /> <br />Regular: The City Council is the Appointment Authority for the City of Centerville <br />and will make aU full-time appointnlents~ based upon the recommendation of the <br />City Administrator. The City Administrator. shall submit a hiring recommendation <br />based on the intetview .results of eligible candidates to the City Council <br /> <br />7 <br />
