City of Centerville Council Meeting Minutes March 21,2018 IV. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 1. February 7, 2018 Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes Change "$2,000" to "$200"near the top of page 2 of the minutes. Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Wae2he to approve the Minutes of the February 7, 2018 regular meeting as Amended. All in favor. Motion carried. V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. Fete des Lacs 5/8k Run/Walk—P. Branch No action or discussion. Pat Branch did not attend the meeting. 2. Name Change to Park or Pavillion No action. Committee would like to wait for Kevin Amundsen's input and for him to report back on his discussion with Mrs. Heidi Grahek. VI. NEW BUSINESS 1. Bald Eagle Waterski Club (BEWC) —Mr. Dean Havel/Mr. Douglas Shipp Mr. Shipp was in attendance and gave a brief overview of the club's program in Centerville and thanked the city for its partnership. a. Letter of Support for DNR Permit Mr. Shipp informed the committee that a permit from the DNR was required for their ski jump to remain in the water overnight. The committee was in general support of the application for permit. Motion by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Waeghe to approve a letter to the DNR in support of the BEWC's request for a permit to allow their ski iump to be located in Centerville Lake. All in favor. Motion carried. b. Partnership for Portable Restroom at Trailside Park Discussion covered whether restroom should be near water or up at Cornerstone Park, and what, if any financial contribution to the rental the city should make. Although the committee and BEWC were comfortable with the facility being near the water, if properly anchored, there are logistical issues, such as the need for handicapped accessibility. Given the steep slopes near the Page 2 of 5
