Neighborhood Crime Watch groups <br />play a big role in assisting our officers with keeping our neighborhoods safe. <br /> <br />N.~"" ~iIIl' ~t <br /> <br />National Night Out is held on the fb:st Tuesday in August every year. This year our cities <br />had another great turn out. Our officers visited numerous scheduled blocJc parties in <br />Circle Pines, Lexington and Centerville. Residents were able to speak to officers about <br />crime concerns and new events in the community. Bicycle helmets were handed out by <br />officers to remind everyone of the importance of bike safety in our neighborhoods. <br />Coloring boob, pencils, and baseball cards were also haft(led out to children in an effort <br />to promote safety and crime prevention. <br /> <br />Nehdaborlaood C....e Watda <br /> <br />Neighborhood Crime Watch groups bring neighbors together in hopes of preventing <br />crime in their communities. These orpni7.ed groups watch out for one another. In order <br />to stay active in the Crime Watch orpni7'Jltion these groups must hold meetings twice a <br />year, one ofwbich may be held on National Night Out. We are hoping to add many <br />more of our residents to these Neighborhood Crime Watch groups in 2006. <br /> <br />Bievde Lice_II <br /> <br />The Centennial Lakes PoHce Depertment urges residents to Hcense their bicycles. These <br />Hcenses are issued at the police department at no cost to residents of Lexington, Circle <br />Pines aud Centerville. This makes the recognition of recovered property easier for the <br />department. Bicycle licenses are a part of crime prevention. Officers and eso's have <br />spent time displaying safety equipment for bicycles and teaching proper band AigPAl~, as <br />well as bicycle laws of the mad. Bicycle helmets have been distributed to children who <br />do not own ODe. <br />
