City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 14, 2019 <br /> <br />future of such project, concerns for emergency repairs, bonding for such repairs and use of short <br />term funding for other funds (interfund loan). <br /> <br />Mayor Paar thanked Finance Director DeJong for his financial input on the project. He also stated <br />that in the near future additional budget discussions on how to increase fund balances without <br />taxing residents. <br /> <br />c. Res. #19-023 – Accept the Feasibility Report & Calling Public Hearing <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Adopt Res. #19- <br />023 – Accept the Feasibility Report & Calling Public Hearing as Presented. <br /> <br />Council Member Love questioned when the Public Hearing for the Downtown TIF District was <br />scheduled for. Administrator Statz stated that that hearing was scheduled for October 9, 2019. <br /> <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. None. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator’s Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz reported that he had recently attended an Anoka County Regional <br />Economic Development where they held a Partners Meeting at the Blaine Airport. He stated <br />that several communities have been working with developers regarding ministorage <br />facilities, apartment buildings and the like throughout the County. He also stated that he is <br />pleased to be a part of the group and felt that a larger amount of work is being done that will <br />benefit the area. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br />a. Lakso <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso <br /> <br />i. Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Lakso reported that <br />she attended a special meeting last evening where discussion was <br />held regarding the upcoming budget, equipment and staffing. <br />Administrator Statz stated that they would be holding one additional <br />meeting prior to bringing their budget before Council. <br />b. Love <br /> <br />Council Member Love stated that he and other representatives from the League <br />of Minnesota Cities have been visiting southern Minnesota cities in the last few <br />days.
