City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 14, 2019 <br /> <br />are feeling the effects of the loss of LGA funding, child care availability, blight, <br />school closings and that the City of Centerville should pride themselves on the <br />fact that they can fund a street project similar to the downtown area without <br />having to bond for it. <br /> <br />Mayor Paar stated that he appreciated Council Member Love’s representation <br />of the City of Centerville and thanked him for all that he does with the League <br />of Minnesota Cities. <br /> <br />c. Koski <br /> <br />Council Member Koski concurred with Mayor Paar regarding Council Member <br />Love’s representation of the City. <br /> <br />i. Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated <br />that he had attended the August 13, 2019 Planning & Zoning <br />Commission meeting where discussion took place regarding a <br />concept for subdividing 7241 Main Street into two (2) or three (3) <br />lots along Centerville Lake, the commission discussed rezoning <br />portions of the downtown area from M-1 to M-2 relaxing the <br />requirement for retail sales on the ground floor of many parcels and <br />stated that a public hearing would be held at their next meeting <br />regarding the item. <br />ii. Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that he <br />and Council Member Lakso both attending the August 13, 2019 <br />Special Fire Steering Committee meeting where most of the focus <br />was on hiring two (2) part-time duty crew members which would <br />affect the budget by approximately $61,000 annually. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski stated that 11 households participated in Night to <br />Unite this year and he had visited 4 (four) of them that evening. He stated <br />that the program is well received and he appreciates resident’s participation. <br /> <br />d. Montain <br /> <br />i. Anoka County Fire Board – Council Member Montain that he had <br />recently attended a meeting where emergency management was <br />discussed, siren testing and the conversion of same by 2021. He <br />stated that Anoka County is looking into utilizing the Pulse Point <br />App which was launched in Ramsey County and allows for <br />individuals that are trained in CPR to receive alerts of citizens <br />experiencing cardiac events in their vicinity so that they can <br />administer aid prior to police or fire arrival. He stated they <br />discussed equipment for the investigation team, the SRT trailer <br />exceeding the budget in 2021 and 2022. He stated that an adverse <br />opinion was received on the recent audit due to segregation of duties <br />and a late payment. <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
