<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 12, 2006 <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso agreed that salary should stay current and be in line with <br />surrounding communities. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway suggested $525 and $450 as it will not be changed for at least <br />two years. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra said it is an excessive drain on personal life and family doing this job and it <br />is not done for the money. She then said she is not so opposed to the figures suggested <br />but she would like to look at them. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said that all members view this as public service and it takes <br />considerable effort to do this every month. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra suggested an amendment to remove the additional $25.00 for each meeting <br />but, that for the salary, members are expected to do one monthly worksession included in <br />the salary. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson suggested figuring out what the meeting costs are so that it is <br />clear for deducting and penalizing. <br /> <br />Council agreed to have a fine of $50 per missed meetings but not worksession unless <br />excused. <br /> <br />Special meetings also as they are important. <br /> <br />Council agreed to include one worksession per month. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked clarification for Council responsibilities in the language and the duty <br />to be a liaison. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra said she wants to clarify that there are responsibilities beyond the Council <br />meetings. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDA TES <br /> <br />1. City Administrator. Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that the City received a letter from Lino Lakes <br />regarding Cedar Street as they are receiving complaints about dust generated from truck <br />traffic. Larson sent a letter in return and Mr. Shudy has agreed to apply chloride to the <br />roadway to control the dust. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that Circle Pines is not interested in imposing <br />administrative fines. <br /> <br />Page 9 of 11 <br /> <br />II <br />
