City of Centerville <br /> Park & Recreation Committee <br />April 1, 2020 <br />communities have made decisions to cancel their events. He stated that several vendors have <br />contacted the City, placed deposits and he has been in contact with Ms. Conley. <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley stated that the she was concerned about providing Ms. Conley with <br />ample time to contact vendors, etc. if the Committee’s decision was to cancel events. Chair <br />Waeghe had concern regarding the ski team and their intentions on whether they would be <br />providing their shows or not. Chair Waeghe stated that revisiting the items in May would be <br />suitable. Committee Seeley suggested that Mr. Doug Shipp, representative of Bald Eagle Water <br />Ski Club and Ms. Conley attend the May meeting. Administrator Statz stated that if the Committee <br />chose not to hold events refunds would be issued. <br /> <br />1. 19-014: Main Street Market <br />a. Discussion on Event viability related to COVID 19 <br />b. Update on Vendor Sign-up <br />c. Update on Volunteer Sign-up <br /> <br />2. 19-032: Fete des Lacs – Update from Liaison(s) <br />a. Discussion on Event viability related to COVID 19 <br />b. Logo Contest Update <br />c. Other updates <br /> <br />Suggestions were received from Committee Members to address all events at the May Committee <br />meeting, that pairing down the events or activities for dates other than the regular dates of events <br />may remain a possibility with the community’s involvement being very much appreciated. <br /> <br />3. City Wide Clean-up Day – Sunday, April 19 - 1:00 PM <br />a. Discussion on Event viability related to COVID 19 <br />b. Other updates <br /> <br />General consensus of the Committee was to not to encourage individuals to violate the <br />Governor’s orders. A desire to clean the local parks was given by at least one member of the <br />Committee who requested that bags and gloves be made available. It was felt that a later date <br />could be determined depending on the Covid-19 virus. <br /> <br />Motion by Chair Waeghe, seconded by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek to cancel <br />the April 19, 2020 City Wide Clean-Up Day. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Music in the Park <br />a. Discussion on Event viability related to COVID 19 <br />b. Other updates <br /> <br />Committee Member Peterson stated that he has been unable to meet with Mr. Tom Lee to discuss <br />this item. The Committee stated that most bands are passionate about what they are doing and <br />would be willing to potentially postpone their performances for later dates dependent upon their <br />schedules.
