City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br />April 29, 2020 <br /> <br />V. BILLS AND COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />1. Bills <br />a. None <br /> <br />VI. REPORTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator’s Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz gave a report on general development activities around the city. <br /> <br />Bayview Villas is still progressing and has approximately 2-3 lots left. <br /> <br />Old Mill Estates has put Phase II on hold temporarily. We are working with them on some <br />drainage issues and hope to resolve them shortly. <br /> <br />We are anticipating permit applications from Mini Storage soon for building construction and <br />utilities. <br /> <br />We are still waiting to see permit applications from Atlas Villas Memory Care after they were <br />informed by Anoka County of some design issues with their kitchen. <br /> <br />The City Council had a workshop regarding the Block 7 project. More discussion is needed with <br />the developer regarding the proposal, and should take place within the next week. <br /> <br />The downtown street project is on hold right now due to COVID-19. CenterPoint Energy has <br />issued a policy stating that they will not go into homes unless it is an emergency. Gas mains need <br />to be moved, which cannot happen until CenterPoint Energy can get into homes to light pilot lights. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Strategic Plan Review – COVID 19 Adjustments <br /> <br />a. Professional Web/Social Media Assistance <br />(i) Michele Koch Proposal <br />(ii) Lonni Olson Proposal <br /> <br />Ideas were discussed involving how to help local businesses using social media and website <br />assistance. It was decided that the first goal would be to help businesses during COVID-19 <br />shutdowns and highlight two businesses per week by hiring Michele Koch and Lonni Olson to <br />create ads for social media and the city’s website. <br /> <br />b. Social Media Ads/Boosts <br /> <br />Social Media Boosts were decided against until there was a chance to consult with Ms. Koch and <br />Ms. Olson. <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
