City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 9, 2020 <br /> <br />received for part-time applicants which is different than before. She <br />stated that the Personnel Policy was modified. <br /> <br />b. Wilharber <br /> <br />i. Police Governing Board – No report given. <br />ii. Economic Development Authority – Council Member Wilharber <br />reported that the EDA would be meeting in the coming week. <br /> <br />c. Koski - <br /> <br />i. Centennial Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated <br />that discussions were had regarding the budget and recruitment of Duty <br />Crew staff. He also stated that he felt that the Co-Chief structure was <br />working well. <br />ii. Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that <br />the Commission discussed five (5) variance requests with one being for <br />front setback along Peltier Lake Drive with a proposed construction of <br />a new home with it being denied. A storage shed on an existing concrete <br />slab that was not set back far enough from the side lot line which was <br />also denied. Council Member Koski stated that the Commission also <br />discussed a proposal for row-style townhomes on 7064 Centerville <br />Road. He also stated that the Commission reviewed a concept plan for <br />a landscaping company on Gateway Circle (two (2) lots but the principal <br />structure on one lot and outside storage on another which is not allowed. <br />He reported that discussion took place regarding Rehbein’s Black Dirt <br />operation and their existing IUP being set to expire at the end of the <br />year. Discussion took place regarding renewing and conditions. He <br />stated that getting rid of the dirt pile would make the property more <br />marketable. He also stated that the Commission would be discussing <br />some ordinances (grass length, temporary dwellings (RVs), trash and <br />recycling, and Industrial District and outside storage) with all being <br />discussed at a later date. <br /> <br />d. Love – Mayor Love thanked the Committee/Commission members for all of <br />their dedication and stated that they truly make the community better. He stated <br />that it was great to see that school business and sport teams are moving forward <br />and advised the audience to be diligent in washing hands, wearing a mask so <br />that things can keep moving forward. He reported that Centerville had an <br />89.6% response to the Census reporting as of last week. He stated that the <br />reporting is extremely easy due to it being on line. Reminded the audience that <br />it was beneficially to the County and that State for reporting. Mayor Love <br />thanked Misters Brian Peterson and Tom Lee for Music in the Park and their <br />dedication to the community.
