<br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – no written update <br /> <br />Administrator Statz had no written report. He stated that the Downtown Street Project was getting <br />buttoned up with blacktopping of streets today, bottoms of driveway and seeding being completed <br />within the next week along with cleanup. He reported that Old Mill Estates, Phase II roadway <br />would be paved by the following week with the contractor finding a contractor for curb <br />replacements and wear course paved on Phase I so that it can be plowed without damaging curb. <br />He stated that on the Street Project they will be paving a pavement wedge along the front of the <br />curb so that the curb will not be damage that also which was a part project. He also reported that <br />the wear course will be completed shortly with the Bayview Villa Project. He also stated that the <br />mini-storage trail will be repaired tomorrow and that there has been a cement slab installed in <br />preparation of construction of one (1) of the building on the site. He reported that the City is in <br />receipt of a building permit for Atlas Villas. Administrator Statz stated that he has had a lot of <br />inquiries regarding development for small single-family, multi-family, apartments, townhomes, <br />etc. and he believes the City is receiving a large amount of interest. He also desired to report that <br />he recently attended a conference, Land Development Summit hosted by MN Real Estate Journal <br />and co-sponsored by Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) where a large <br />amount of optimism was for retail work, (fast food or quick service food) and a large amount of <br />interest in vacant property and in near future discussion needs to be had regarding the Downtown <br />and addressing developers. <br /> <br />He reported that Cleanup Day was on Saturday with approximately 100 vehicles. He stated that <br />the City purchased a “square” for processing payments in attempts to limit hand-to-hand contact <br />or contact with money. He stated that the square worked well for this event. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that “Early Voting”/Absentee Voting and City Hall is open and we have <br />had 12 voters today and about a 150 total. Staff has contemplated having an Election Judge as <br />City Hall to assist voters also. City Clerk Bender asked that the public have patience when arriving <br />to voting early as the City Hall has there are four (4) booths available while construction is taking <br />place, sanitation is a priority, controlling the amount of individuals entering at any given time, <br />while ensuring the public safety during COVID-19. Administrator Statz stated that we hope that <br />people will not be discouraged during this time. <br /> <br />Council Member Wilharber inquired about the status of the sprinkler system installation for water <br />run-off in LaMotte Park. Administrator Statz responded that the contractor is continuing to work <br />on this project and expects to finish by the Fall. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Lakso <br />i. Parks and Recreation Committee – No Report <br />ii. Centennial Fire District Steering Committee – Council Member <br />Lakso stated that a meeting was held along with a fire station meeting <br />event last evening which she attended with Council Member Koski. She <br />appreciated the opportunity to share perspectives and observed a strong <br />camaraderie between those in attendance, especially with the co-chiefs. <br />She stated that the study was anticipated to be completed around the <br />first of the year. <br />iii. Anoka County Fire Protection Council – Council Member Lakso <br />stated their meeting was cancelled until January. <br />iv.
