City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 12, 2020 <br />Council Member Koski stated that he felt that some on the Commissioners did not desire these <br />types of businesses along Main Street due to the potential for residents of the facility wondering, <br />their safety and that they would be better suited in a quieter zoning district. <br />Mayor Love stated that he felt that the Commission had considered good use of available property, <br /> He felt that it was a positive step and stated <br />that this is want the Commission is all about and that he was appreciative of their responses and <br />importance. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Approved Ord. <br />#108, Second Series - Main Street Commercial District (B-2); Table 156-A-1 Table of allowed <br />Uses as Presented. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members Koski, <br />Lakso, Montain & Wilharber voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />nd <br />2. City Code Re: Farm Animals (2 Reading) <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that this is a second reading of the proposed revisions to Farm Animals <br />regarding backyard chickens. He stated that the proposed revisions would allow for six (6) hens <br />instead of four (4), allowing a fenced area that is not covered where if the chickens are in the area <br />they are supervised and language regarding removal of the coup by Fall if harboring chickens is <br />ceased as some residents prefer not to harbor them through the winter months. Administrator <br />Statz stated that the suggested language has come from an experienced chicken owner and input <br />would be taken. <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Wilharber to Adopt Ord. <br /> City Code Re: Farm Animals with the Removal of <br /> A roll-call vote <br />was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members Koski, Lakso, Montain & Wilharber voted <br />in favor. Motion carried. <br />3. Code Re: Public Nuisances Affecting <br />nd <br />Health (2 Reading) <br />Administrator Statz stated that this is a second reading of the proposed revision to Public Nuisances <br />Affecting Health with a simple change to add grass to the part of the code for maintaining lawns <br />allowing for the ordinance to be stronger. He stated that this addition would allow for the length <br />of grass to be enforced for lawns and boulevards. <br /> <br />for the regularly maintained lawn but rather those residences that are vacant and not maintained <br />along with vacant parcels. <br />Motion by Council Member Wilharber, seconded by Council Member Koski to Adopt Ord. <br />call vote was taken. <br />Page 7 of 12 <br />7 <br /> <br />
