1737 Main Street <br />Quotes for demolition of the building are on this Council Agenda. <br />Miscellaneous <br />We have received lots of inquiries regarding vacant land or redevelopment opportunities <br />in the city. Those inquires have included: <br />Mini-storage <br />80,000 sf existing building (or 6 to 15 acres vacant land) for manufacturing <br />Multi-family housing <br />Single family housing <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT – RESIDENTIAL <br />General <br />Code enforcement letters have been sent, recently, on the following topics: <br />Vehicles for sale parked in the right-of-way or on the property <br />Most letters sent over the past few months have resulted in compliance and city staff is <br />following up with those that have not via phone. In most cases, our phone call follow- <br />ups have resulted in amicable compliance. <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT – COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL <br />General <br />Several businesses in town have reinvested in their properties or done some clean-up. <br />Staff will be sending these businesses letters just thanking them for doing these things <br />voluntarily. We think it’s a nice way to have something positive come from the city, <br />rather than only negative correspondence. Two of those businesses are MidWest One <br />Bank, who recently repaved their parking lot and drive-thru and Noble Welding who has <br />cleaned up a substantial amount of junk from their lot. Thanks for being good business- <br />citizens! <br />Alex’s Lawn and Turf, LLC – Conditional Use Permit <br />City staff met with residents from Cottonwood Court and got some suggestions on what <br />types of conditions could be placed on a revised conditional use permit for the Alex’s <br />Lawn and Turf business. A meeting is set for Tuesday, September 25, with <br />representatives from Alex’s to hear their suggestions.Hopefully, we will come away <br />with some mutually agreeable terms that we can put in front of the planning commission <br />again. <br />CenterMart - Conditional Use Permit <br />City staff met with CenterMart ownership to discuss compliance issues and look at <br />potential revisions to their Conditional Use Permit.
