PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS
Lino Lakes LaMotte Neighborhood Street and Utility Reconstruction
City staff are in regular communication with Lino Lakes’ staff and consultants to stay in
the loop on the progress of the project. You may notice some residents cars parked in the
LaMotte Park parking lot. We have offered this area for folks who cannot access their
driveways. The contractor is NOT allowed to use the parking lot for any staging.
PARKS
Mowing Contract
We have now sent out a request for proposals for the mowing of city properties and will
have the results by the end of the month.
Committee Vacancy
The parks committee still has one open seat. Please talk with friends and neighbors about
this opportunity to serve.
Long Range Capital Improvement Plan
The Parks and Recreation Committee has approved a draft of the Long Range Capital
Improvement Plan (CIP). This CIP would be the backbone of a Parks and Trails Master
Plan which would set the foundation for a well justified Park Dedication Fee. The CIP
will be on an upcoming City Council agenda for review and approval.
Recycling Efforts
City staff has submitted our recycling plan for 2019 to the county. The plan includes
some additional incentives (coupons) for our residents towards the use of the Blaine
Greenlights Recycling Center for drop-off of large items, etc. Additionally, the plan
includes the purchase of a set of recycling bins for LaMotte Park to be used as a pilot
project with the goal of seeing if the new bins result in better recycling practices from
park-goers. Costs for these additional items on our 2019 plan are offset by additional
SCORE funding and, therefore, do not have a net impact on the city’s budget.
FETE DES LACS
Save the Date
The date for Fete des Lacs has been set:
Fete des Lacs 2019
July 16 - 21
