Lino Lakes' Comprehensive Plan
Staff and consultants reviewed the draft Comprehensive plan from Lino Lakes and
submitted comments regarding inter -community utility services, wellhead protection
areas, trail connections, shared road maintenance and the like.
Peltier Estates
No recent news.
Waterworks Site/DeFoe Property
The city attorney and representatives for the developer have been actively working to
reach agreement on various financial security issues (bonds, letters of credit, etc.). We
are still hopeful that work can be done to finish the road and begin constructing homes
before the end of the season.
Old Mill Estates
The Plat has now officially been recorded with the county. This represents the first new
residential plat in the city since 2007! Work on the sanitary sewer has begun, with
water main, services and storm sewer in the coming weeks. Construction should be done
before the end of September, leaving plenty of time to start digging basements. Two
builders have committed to the project: Eternity Homes and Sharper Homes.
Block 7 Property
At the last City Council meeting, the council voted to move forward with a public hearing
for the creation of a Housing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District on Block 7. The
hearing is to be held on October 9. The current proposal is for $1.35 Million of
assistance over a 20-year district lifespan.
Midwest Best Water
Walls are up! Everything is on schedule despite all the rain. There has been significant
interest in the 10,000 sf of tenant space, but nothing finalized, yet.
7241 Main Street
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed concept plat options for the subdivision
of this lot. General consensus was that either a 2 or 3 lot configuration could work. We
anticipate seeing an application for preliminary plat in the next few weeks.
201 Ave. Mini Storage
Staff has been in contact with the developer's representation and they anticipate
submitting a revised site plan based on the comments from the Planning and Zoning
Commission during a public hearing held on July 18. If staff deems the changes made to
be in line with the requirements in the commission's conditional approval, the plan will
again go in front of them, with subsequent presentation to the City Council.
