Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />EDA Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br />The EDA plans to do another round of solicitation for applicants in the spring, but we are <br />still actively accepting applications. <br />The project, awarded this fall at The Southern Rail has been delayed due to weather and <br />contractor availability. <br />City Owned Property Initiatives <br />Realtor Mike Brass presented his thoughts on the two smaller downtown properties on <br />the north side of Main Street <br />Promotional Video <br />The initial shoot for the economic development promotional video was completed, on <br />Saturday, 10/27 and a first draft of the video is now complete. It features footage of <br />Commerce Drive industrial buildings, the Townoffice Park/Eagle Brook office building, <br />vacant industrial land along Fairview, vacant commercial land on Main Street, Main <br />Street mini-malls and our downtown. The EDA provided comments on the draft video <br />and the consultant is now working on those updates. <br /> <br />2020 Strategic Plan <br />The EDA has begun formulating at 2020 Strategic Plan. President Hanzal intends to <br />present this plan to the City Council in January in an effort to better communicate the <br />goals and objectives of the committee. <br />Minnesota Technology Corridor <br />A meeting with United Properties has been set for January 9, to further discuss the <br />marketing of the 60 acres of property on Fair <br />Minnesota Technology Corridor. <br />A message from Jacquel Hajder: The MN Tech Corridor partnership was selected by the <br />Minnesota Association of Professional County Economic Developers (MAPCED) for its <br />2019 achievement award. The partnership will be honored next week at the Association <br />of MN Counties (AMC) annual conference. Congratulations and thank you to all of you <br />for the continued partnership on the MN Technology Corridor. We could not have such a <br />successful partnership without each and every one of your contributions so far. <br /> <br />Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />Administrator Statz will be attending a Marketing Subcommittee meeting on January 16, <br />ipation in various regional events. <br /> <br />FINANCE <br />Insurance Services Office (ISO) <br />Finance staff assisted our Building Inspection staff in completing documents required for <br />our ISO evaluation related to our building code enforcement.
