The US Treasury has now
finalized their guidance on lost revenue, which provides a flat amount for recovery by each
city, which is well above Centerville's allotment. If funds are allocated for lost revenue, they
must simply be spent on general government expenses. Council has not made formal
commitments yet.
Snow Plow Season
Council briefly discussed the Snow Plow Policy at their
January 12, 2022 meeting and are looking for
additional information to be provided by Administrator
Statz and Public Works Director Palzer.
STORMWATER/WETLAND
Rice Creek Watershed District Erosion Control
Inspection Partnership.
The city kicked off its first few months of a new partnership with the Rice Creek
District, earlier this summer. The agreement between the city and RCWD
Watershed
eliminates
overlapping inspections on development sites, keeping development costs down. The
watershed district supplies the inspections and the city pays for half of their costs.
Recently, the city received its first invoice from the watershed and happily paid it in full! Both
organizations are hopeful that this partnership can lead to more collaborative programs that cut
government bureaucracy while still fulfilling the missions of our respective organizations.
SEWER AND WATER
Commercial Water Connection Fee Assistance
As part of the city's ongoing effort to help businesses through the pandemic, a new program
was introduced, cutting connection fees for city water in half, for commercial properties. If
you own a commercial property in Centerville that is not currently hooked to city water, and
are interested in learning more, please call City Hall. The program is offered for a limited time
only and is subject to conditions.
