City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 9, 2021 <br /> <br />Council Member Koski stated these items would have to be taken up with the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission. City Attorney Glaser stated restaurants have been serving meals for drive thru, pick <br />up zones on the sidewalks, and tables on the sidewalks with extended seating outside. Council <br />Member Koski is in favor of providing financial support to the restaurant businesses. <br /> <br />Mayor Love stated that one of the restaurants in town is utilizing a public sidewalk for curbside <br />pickup, which may not be allowed if not for the peace time emergency. <br /> <br />Mayor Love stated Centerville has stayed right in line with the Governor, with all other mandates. <br />If City Council chooses to create another peacetime emergency, it may create more questions than <br />answers. He noted if there are changes, they should be put in a notice to Planning and Zoning and <br />let it be heard by the City Council. Mayor Love also mentioned to look at City ordinances before <br />something is passed. He agreed with the Governor to let the peacetime emergency expire. <br /> <br />Attorney Glaser advised that should a motion not be passed by the City Council, the peacetime <br />emergency will simply expire on June 14, 2021. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski to modify Resolution 20-008 Declaring a Peacetime <br />Emergency and allow the declaration to expire on July 22, 2021. Motion failed for lack of a <br />second. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Accepting Resignation of Chairperson Mr. Kevin Waeghe (Parks & <br />Recreation Committee) & Declaring Vacancy <br /> <br />Administrator Statz presented the resignation of Parks & Recreation Committee Chairperson <br />Kevin Waeghe noting he has been on the Parks and Recreation Committee for 3 years. <br />Administrator Statz stated Mr. Waeghe has served Centerville with distinction and will be missed. <br /> <br />Council Member Mosher thanked Mr. Waeghe for his service. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski stated Mr. Waeghe has been involved with the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee for years and thanked him for all that he has done for our community. <br /> <br />Mayor Love also gave his thanks to Mr. Waeghe. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher, to accept, with <br />regret, the resignation of Kevin Waeghe from the Parks and Recreation Committee and <br />declare a vacancy. Mayor Love and Council Members Koski and Mosher voted in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Discussion Regarding Cyber Security System <br /> <br />Administrator Statz noted Metro I-Net is a collaborative entity that works with many cities and <br />provides IT services around the metro area.
