City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 26, 2022 <br />number of trees being removed, reason(s) for removal, potential benefits or liability associated <br />with leaving or removing the tree stumps and added cost of stump removal. Funding of the project <br />was also discussed as it pertains to priorities Î whether it would reprioritize other projects like the <br />Skate Park, or entrance monument. <br />Administrator Statz noted that the project is recommended for the overall health of the trees in the <br />park. He suggested that the Parks and Rec Committee evaluated all of the cityÓs parks and provide <br />recommendations (more trees, less trees, clean-up, etc.). There was discussion about the tree <br />removal project in Eagle Park being a pilot program. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Koski to Accept the <br />Recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Committee to Approve the Quote from <br />LangerÓs Tree Service for removal of eighty-three trees from Eagle Park, not including <br />stump removal. A roll-call vote was taken. Council Members King, Koski, Lakso, Mosher <br />and Mayor Love voted in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. AdministratorÓs Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that his report was contained in the packet and that he would be happy <br />to answer any questions that Council may have. Mayor Love noted that he enjoys reading the <br />report, thinks it is laid out very well and that members of the public feel more informed. <br />2. Council Reports <br />a. Lakso - <br />i. Anoka County Fire Protection Council - No report was given. <br />ii. Parks and Recreation Committee - No report was given. <br /> <br />b. Koski Î <br />i. Fire Steering Committee Î Council Member Koski stated that the <br />committee met last week and reviewed the 2021 budget, which was about <br />$5,900 over budget. He stated that Chief Smith would be retiring at the end <br />of April, and that there would likely be a joint board meeting coming up. <br />ii. Planning & Zoning Commission Î Council Member Koski stated there <br />has not been a meeting since the last council meeting and that there would <br />be a public hearing at the next meeting. <br />c. King Î <br />i. Economic Development Authority Î Council Member King stated that the <br />EDA discussed the 1737 Main Street building design with apartments <br />above; the plan does not fit the comps.
