Resolution #21-0XX Declining & Requesting Reallocation of Broadband Funding <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for the Council to add or remove any item(s) to/from the <br />consent agenda. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Mosher, to Approve the <br />Consent Agenda as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Resolution #21-0XX Adopting Final Property Tax Levy and Budget <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that this was Council’s final opportunity to reduce the proposed budget. <br />He also stated that it has been discussed for a number of months. Mayor Love stated that the <br />Council held a public hearing earlier in the evening where robust discussion was held. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Approve Res. <br />#21-022 – Adopting Final Property Tax Levy and Budget as Presented. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Recommendation for Employment Offer – Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that interviews took place yesterday and a final recommendation for an <br />Employment Offer being forwarded to Ms. Athanasia Lewis. He stated that she has an excellent <br />record of experience and the Personnel Committee felt she was a good candidate. The <br />recommendation is for Pay Grade 8, Step 6 ($71,843/year on the 2022 Pay Scale). Administrator <br />Statz stated that Council set the maximum budget for the position at $75,000 dependent on <br />qualifications and experience. He stated that Staff is recommending Pay Grade 8, Step 6 - <br />$71,843/year for salary with recognition of experience being three (3) years for calculation of <br />Personal Time Off (PTO). <br /> <br />Council Member Koski shared his experience with the interview process and Ms. Lewis’ <br />educational and adaptability skills. He stated that he felt she would be a good fit and willing to <br />learn and grow with it. He stated that she has held the same position in another community in the <br />State. She looked at the City’s Comprehensive Plan and educated herself to ask questions. He <br />stated that he felt that she could get the City in the direction that Council desires to go.
