City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 9, 2022 <br /> <br />Council Member King stated that he liked to research such items as Item #7 to obtain both sides <br />of the issue/concerns. He stated that he had reviewed the resolution and on face value, it makes <br />sense but he wished the associated bills were included for review prior to a decision. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member King to Table Consent <br />Agenda Item #7 – Res. #22-0XX – Supporting Housing and Local Decision-Making <br />Authority as Presented for Further Review. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that the item could be tabled and staff would forward the associated <br />bills prior to the next meeting for consideration at its March 23, 2022 meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso to Table Consent Agenda Item #7 – Res. #22-0XX – <br />Supporting Housing and Local Decision-Making Authority as Presented for Further Review <br />with the Item being Placed on Council’s March 23, 2022 for Consideration. Council Member <br />King Accepted the Friendly Amendment. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Website Redesign <br /> <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed with Council the presented Request for Council Action <br />that was contained in the packet and a presentation. She stated that Council requested that she <br />research whether there were vendors on the State Contract and she reported that there were not. <br />She reported that she was able to negotiate a lower price of $26,700 for the first year for the <br />redesign and mobile application. She stated that the second year and annually thereafter would be <br />$12,000. <br /> <br />Jr. Council Member Peterson stated that he was happy in Council’s decision to authorize an <br />application and felt that it would be more convenient to users. <br /> <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the reduction in price, alerts that would be available, a fourth <br />year redesign being included in the contract, CivicPlus’ use of the City’s APP for marketing of a <br />smaller city’s use, subcommittee’s for EDA and Parks & Recreation to gain their input, necessity <br />to market the APP, concerns for release of data if move to another vendor in the future and use of <br />Committee/Commission Members along with general public of all ages for content, testing and <br />etc. associated with the website prior to going live. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member King to Approve the <br />Presented Contract with CivicPlus for Website Re-Design and a Mobile APP Packet in the <br />Amount of $26,700 for the First Year and $12,000 Annually Thereafter.
