City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 27, 2022 <br />community partners, that Anoka County’s Economic Development staff individual has accepted <br />another position. He reminded Council of the upcoming Senior Expo happening on May 19, 10- <br />2 at St. Gen’s Parish Community Center. He noted that Sutton transport has received their building <br />permit, Rehbein dirt pile will be moving across the street (south of Dairy Queen). He stated that <br />Kwik Trip has inquired about a permit with construction associated with the turn lane commencing <br />shortly. He noted that NorBella Senior Living of Centerville was moving along nicely, that <br />American Building Supply contractors were currently working on the interior of the building and <br />awaiting for their RCWD permit, Max Storage anticipated a building permit following the <br />completion of all of their documents. He reported that there was a Public Hearing scheduled for <br />Project Banjo before the Planning & Zoning Commission on May 3, 2022 and then before Council <br />at the May 25, 2022 meeting. He stated that their representatives has been very receptive and easy <br />to work with. <br />Mayor Love asked that Administrator Statz report on the current work the Assessors are <br />completing regarding parcel inspections in the north and east of Main Street quadrant of the City. <br />He stated that a visual inspection is required every five (5) years of properties. He stated that they <br />would be badged and if concerns arise, please feel free to contact the Centennial Lakes Police <br />Department. <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis – Assistant City Administrator Lewis had nothing to report. <br />Finance Director DeJong – Finance Director DeJong stated that he had attended the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee meeting, he stated that he felt that the Committee was very well-rounded, <br />passionate and educated and that Council appointed great members and that he was very <br />impressed. <br />Attorney Glaser – Attorney Glaser gave no report due to his absence. <br />Junior Council Member Peterson – Mr. Peterson gave no report due to his absence. <br />2.Council Reports <br />a. Lakso – <br />Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member Lakso stated that the <br />Parks & Recreation Committee held a Work Session where they discussed <br />their strategic planning and a donation policy. She also stated that there was <br />a vacancy on the Committee. <br />Anoka County Fire Protection Council – No report was given. <br />b. Koski – Council Member Koski asked if the City was going to provide additional <br />information to the public regarding Project Banjo. Administrator Statz stated that <br />it was decided not to enlarge the Legal Notice requirement mailing area of 350’ <br />from the project but that Staff would be all social media avenues shortly but that <br />the newsletter would not be timely for the hearing. <br />Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that the <br />Public Hearing for Project Banjo would be held on May 3, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. <br />Page 5 of 7 <br /> <br />
