(1) (a) The statement that ÐAny personal property pledged to a pawnbroker within this <br />state is subject to a sale or disposal when there has been no payment made on the <br />account for a period of not less than 60 days past the date of the pawn transaction, <br />renewal, or extension; no further notice is necessary. <br /> (b) There is no obligation for the pledge to redeem pledged goods.Ñ <br />(2) The statement that ÐThe pledger of this item attests that it is not stolen, it has no liens or <br />encumbrances against it, and the pledger has the right to sell or pawn the item.Ñ <br /> <br />(3) The statement that ÐThis item is redeemable only by the pledger to whom the receipt was issued, <br />or any person identified in a written and notarized authorization to redeem the property identified <br />in the receipt, or a person identified in writing by the pledger at the time of the initial transaction <br />and signed by the pledger. Written authorization for release of property to persons other than the <br />original pledger must be maintained along with the original transaction record.Ñ <br /> <br />(4) A blank line for the pledgerÓs signature. <br /> <br />(C) Receipt. A licensed secondhand goods dealer or pawnbroker must provide a receipt to the seller or <br />pledger of any items which includes the name, address, phone number of the business, the date, <br />description of the item purchased and the purchaserÓs signature. <br /> <br />Penalty, see § 112.99 <br /> <br />Ord. #64, adopted 08/13/1997 <br />§ 112.11 STOLEN GOODS; WEAPONS. <br /> <br />(A) Stolen goods. A licensed pawnbroker or secondhand goods dealer must report immediately to the police <br />any article pledged or received, or sought to be pledged or received, if the licensee has reason to believe <br />that the article was stolen or lost. If any goods, articles or things shall be advertised in any public <br />newspaper of the city as having been lost or stolen, and the goods, articles or things shall then come into <br />the possession of any licensee, a supplemental report will go into the licenseeÓs daily report for that day <br />to the designated Chief of Police or his or her designee giving information in writing that certain goods, <br />articles or things advertised are in the licenseeÓs possession, and shall not dispose of the same except <br />upon written authority to do so from the Chief of Police or his or her designee. The Police Chief or his <br />or her designee shall have the authority to immediately seize any stolen property. <br /> <br />(B) Weapons. A licensed pawnbroker or secondhand goods dealer may not receive as a pledge or otherwise <br />accept for consignment or sale any revolver, pistol, sawed-off shotgun, automatic rifle, blackjack, <br />switchblade knife, throwing stars, nunchakus, martial arts weapons or other similar weapons or firearms. <br /> <br />Penalty, see § 112.99 <br /> <br />Ord. #64, adopted 08/13/1997 <br />176΋tğŭĻ <br /> <br />
