City of Centerville
Council Meeting Minutes
July 11, 2022

Administrator Statz read the policies and procedures of a public hearing and stated following all public
comments or questions, Council would close the public hearing and make their recommendation/decision.

Mr. Michael Martin, 1753 Dupre Road, thanked Council for considering how this would affect abutting
property owners and the community along with planning for the future. He stated that he believes everyone
is looking for good streets, safe communities and long term enrichment, but he believes that his roadway
near his home, between two (2) ponds and on a corner, has significant structural issues that need to be
addressed prior to an overlay and requested that it be considered with the scope of the project.

Mayor Love asked Administrator Statz if this was part of extra work that was spoke about. Administrator
Statz stated it was not contained in the current scope. He stated that he had received an email from Mr.
Martin and followed up with Public Works Director Palzer, but Mr. Palzer was on vacation. Administrator
Statz stated that he would be addressing the issue prior to the project taking place.

Mr. Michael Conkey, 1852 Partridge Place, stated that he believed that new asphalt would only accelerate
the speeds on the roadway. Mr. Conkey stated that he has concerns with the speed limit on the roadway,
felt that it should be monitored more and that he had concerns for children in the area.

Ms. Amber Anderson, 1779 Partridge Place, stated that upon receipt of the notice she felt it contained little
information and was not in favor of the project. She stated since attending this evening, she supports the
project but feels that underlying issues with roadways should be corrected prior to the overlay. She also
stated that it is very important to notify the public of the project, timeline, etc. prior to starting the project.

Mayor Love asked for additional comments from the audience, lacking any additional comments he
requested a motion to close the public hearing.

Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Mosher to close the public hearing
at 7:36 p.m. All in favor.
