<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />April 5, 2023 <br /> <br />a. Approvals of Park Use Applications by Staff <br /> <br />Ms. Bender informed the Committee that occasionally a request to utilize a park is received and <br />use request is prior to the next meeting and that she would like authorization to approve those <br />applications. She stated that those approved would appear on the next agenda for the Committee <br />to review. The Committee authorized her to approve those that the timeframe of use did not <br />coincide with meetings and all others continue to be forwarded for Committee action. <br /> <br />3. 2023 Volunteer Appreciation Day <br /> <br />Following previous discussions and suggestions regarding the date, time, location, food, and <br />appreciation items, it was suggested that the Volunteer Appreciation Day be placed on the May <br />agenda for additional discussion. <br /> <br />4. 2023 Annual Parks Clean-up <br /> <br />a. P & R Committee Members & Volunteers <br /> <br />The upcoming event has been scheduled for April 29, 2023 at 9 a.m. with volunteers meeting at <br />City Hall. Posters have been made and placed in the Kiosk at Corner Stone Park. <br /> <br />b. Lions Clean-up <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Bender reported that the Centerville Lions’ Clean-up was scheduled for May 13 at 8:30 a.m. <br />along the Lions Adopt A Highway route. <br /> <br />c. Centennial Lakes Little League Clean-up <br /> <br />Ms. Bender reported that the Centennial Lake Little League Clean-up was scheduled for April 15 <br />with a rain date of April 22, 2023 for Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the potential for all groups to collaboratively work together to <br />beautify the City. <br /> <br />5. Trunk or Treat Event <br /> <br />Ms. Bender reported that the event had been scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023, the parking <br />lot had been reserved and trinkets purchased with the assistance of Chairperson Errickson-Grahek. <br /> <br />6. Main Street Market – Entertainment <br /> <br />Ms. Bender reported that Dakota Clover has again volunteered to perform weekly at the markets <br />this year. <br /> <br />VII.
