to give input. The following was offered as a description of the endeavor:

Summary of the context for this workshop series:
Communities rely on sufficient, reliable, and safe water supply for health, prosperity, and
the function of local ecosystems. This is not a given, but is paramount. The region as a
whole is expected to grow by more than 600,000 people by 2050, the climate is changing,
and new issues resulting from human impacts continue to emerge that have the potential
to further influence the quality and quantity of water available for drinking water supply.
With existing supply constraints and challenges as well as a forecast of continued growth,
now is the time to thoughtfully and collaboratively plan to ensure a safe and sustainable
water supply—for individual communities, ecosystems, the region, and future
generations.

From late 2023 into early 2024, the Metropolitan Council will be engaging stakeholders
who impact and are impacted by water supply decisions on a sub-metro region scale. In
collaboration with a Core Team of local water resource leaders from the Northeast Metro,
a two-workshop series is being planned to create space for locally-driven creation of Metro
Area Water Supply Plan content. The hope is to build a shared vision for water supply in
the Northeast Metro, prioritize issues and opportunities, and develop an action plan to
address them. Then, with a plan in hand and relationships enhanced through the planning
process, we will work collaboratively within and beyond the Northeast Metro subregion
to secure a sustainable water future for humans and ecosystems alike.

These workshops and the resulting water supply plan will have wide-ranging and important influence on
water supply policies, regulations, and outcomes. While protecting our clean water resources is of utmost
importance, it is important that we engage in these conversations to ensure future actions result in equitable
rules for all of our constituents and don’t unduly hinder development or influence city planning.

CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT
Year-end Financials
As the final bills from 2023 are being paid, our early estimates indicate that CLPD will end the year around
5% under budget. Like many police departments, we spent much of the year understaffed, finding it difficult
to fill open spots. However, it is important to our leadership that we take the time to find the right person,
not just the next available person.

CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT
We’re Hiring
We’re hiring!
