City Council: The City Council of the City of Centerville. <br />Compensatory Time: For exempt Employees, the same amount of time off work as the <br />employee has overtime hours worked. For non-exempt Employees, time off work at one - <br />and -one-half times the number of overtime hours worked. <br />Demotion: The change of an employee's status to a position of having a lower pay <br />range, rank, or grade, and/or lesser responsibility than previously held. <br />Department: A branch of City Administration with responsibility for one or several <br />assigned functions. <br />Department Head: The Supervisor of a department. <br />Employee - Exempt: An Employee will not be covered by the overtime provisions of the <br />Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />Employee - Intermittent: An at -will Employee who works occasionally or on -call for an <br />indefinite time, under the same terms and conditions as a temporary Employee. <br />Employee - Full -Time: An at -will Employee working at least 30 hours per week, who <br />has successfully completed a required probationary period, and serves in a position <br />funded in the approved City budget for a given fiscal year. (A full-time employee is, for a <br />calendar month, an employee employed on average at least 30 hours of service per week, or 130 <br />hours of service per month.) <br />Employee - Non -Exempt: An Employee covered by the overtime provisions of the <br />Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />Employee - Part -Time: An at -will Employee working less than 30 hours per week, who <br />has successfully completed the required probationary period and who is not eligible for <br />benefits other than those mandated by State or Federal Law. <br />Employee - Regular: An at -will Employee who has successfully completed all stages of <br />the selection process including the training period and/or probationary period. <br />Employee - Seasonal: A full-time or part-time at -will Employee whose appointment is <br />limited to a specific season of the year and is employed under the same terms and <br />conditions as a temporary Employee. <br />Employee - Temporary: A full-time or part-time Employee who serves in a position on a <br />temporary basis where no benefit eligibility exists. _and-rtv-creme 06 iVeR fnr GeR;GFity <br />Employer - The City of Centerville. <br />Hours Worked: Includes all hours that the Employee actually performs duties that <br />benefit the city, including rest periods or breaks, meetings, training programs, travel <br />between work sites on a workday, time spent performing duties after hours or on <br />Page 3 of 60 <br />
