City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 27, 2024 <br />assist in funding a portion of the costs as all residents enjoy the lake and that funds could be expended <br />from the Storm Water Fund. He stated that Storm Water Funds are utilized to construct rain gardens, <br />prevent flooding, ensure filtration of water prior to running into lakes, streams/creeks and rivers. He <br />stated that staff was very supportive of the use of the funds, felt that it was appropriate, in the project <br />and agreement. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding treatment applications in May, 2024 and one in 2026, the science of the <br />dosages ensuring that the second dose is correct, education on the treatment, effects of fertilizers and <br />additional assistance with alleviating the problem going forward, and the completion of an additional <br />carp survey in case management is needed. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Taylor, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Authorize State to <br />Enter into a Cost Share Agreement with the Rice Creek Watershed District Regarding the <br />Centerville Lake Alum Treatment Project. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that his report was contained in <br />the packet and that he would be happy to address any questions from the Council. He provided <br />the Council with a brief review. He stated that both the Town Hall-Open House and CSAH 54 <br />Corridor Study were well attended. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis stated that the EDA Business Appreciation was scheduled <br />for November 4, 2024, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Rail and for Council Members to <br />mark their calendars along with local businesses. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Sauber stated that the fourth quarter would be starting the following <br />week, freshmen and juniors were completing State testing, a lot of the spring sports have had <br />their trials or will be having them within the coming week. <br /> <br />Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Taylor – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Taylor gave no report. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> (i) Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski gave no report. <br /> (ii) Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski gave no report. <br /> <br />c. Mosher – <br />(i) Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher stated that the board <br />authorized the purchase of reusable grocery totes for Fete des Lacs and the Anoka County <br />Business Sumit.
